Chabad of Knoxville works with the Eli Schlanger Institute of Jewish Status, in conjunction with the Sydney Beth Din, for the verification and certification of Jewish status.
The Institute specializes in Jewish status verification and provides a thorough, professional and confidential process. Certification issued through the Institute is recognized by leading Halachic authorities around the world, including the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, providing you with recognized documentation of your Jewish status for the future, which can be useful whenever formal verification of Jewish status is required.
In some circumstances, you may also require a letter from your local community rabbi regarding your connection to the Jewish community and other matters about which the rabbi has personal knowledge. When you request such a letter from Chabad of Knoxville, verification of your Jewish status through the Eli Schlanger Institute must first be completed. Chabad of Knoxville can then provide the appropriate rabbinic letter based on Rabbi Yossi Wilhelm’s personal knowledge of you and your involvement in the community.
