Yizkor

  • When physical life ends, only the body passes away. The soul continues its journey in the spiritual realm, where it ascends to ever-higher levels of purity and holiness. Yet, no longer in a physical body, the soul cannot perform mitzvot or good deeds. How, then, can it continue to gain new merit?

When we, the living, give tzedakah, perform a mitzvah, or do a good deed in memory of a departed parent or loved one, the merit of those deeds is credited to and elevates their soul.

Yizkor will be recited on Yom Kippur,
    Monday, September 21, 2026, at 12:30pm
at the Crowne Plaza Knoxville Downtown, Summit II.

  • Chabad of Knoxville will be printing a special Yizkor booklet that will include a memorial page honoring our departed loved ones. Please complete the form below to have the name of your loved one included in the Yizkor booklet and remembered during Yizkor.
